ENGAGING FOR GROWTH 2011 - SUSTAINABLE EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT AND ORGANISATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS

A vital event for leaders and managers to explore ways of engaging and motivating people in a time of social upheaval and financial stress.

2011 is barely half-way through and already it is has been one of the most turbulent years in recent times: political institutions are changing, financial markets are in turmoil, social media is becoming more powerful as a tool to effect change, and consumer demands are increasing without the budgets available to throw money at the solution.

Amidst the chaos, targets remain a constant: deliver better products and services at reduced cost, and make better use of the resources available. Employee engagement is key to achieving these aims – but how can this be achieved when employees themselves have fears for their future, and when workforces are being downsized in both the public and private sectors ?

This year, Engaging for Growth has assembled speakers from the private, public and academic sectors to address the issue of how to keep employee engagement focused and effective – to make the best use of the resources available.

Covering concepts such as Employee Value Proposition (EVP), Organisational Effectiveness and Employee Engagement, attendees to the event will benefit from real-life case studies, delivered by speakers who have effected significant changes to the way that major plcs and public bodies interact with – and motivate – their employees.

Regardless of the size or sector of your organisation, whether it is facing cuts or undergoing expansion, working in the private or public sectors, attendance will give you valuable pointers to how your organisation can make the best of its employees in these times of transition and uncertainty.

A limited number of spaces are available for delegates and demand is expected to be high. We look forward to seeing you at EFG 2011, and hope that what you learn from the event will aid your organisation in the year to come.

LATEST NEWS

Helen Francis and Martin Reddington, who are speaking at EFG 2011, will also be saying a few words about their forthcoming book with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (to be published January 2012).

BENEFITS OF ATTENDING

Attendees will benefit from case studies from real-life scenarios, as well as responses to inputs which will be collated from delegates before the event takes place. There is a strong mix of both theoretical and analytical materials to be presented, which will answer issues such as:

  • How to better understand your workforce and do what matters to them: concentrating on the premise that your organisation is reliant on its employees, learn strategies that will are inclusive, rather than dictatorial.

  • How to justify the business case for an engagement strategy:  in the current economic climate, perceived “soft” programmes or initiatives struggle to get the financial backing and the leadership focus they need. We know that engagement programmes are the enablers of business change: whether redesigning processes, changing IT systems, undergoing structural reorganisations, it is how employees embrace these changes that affect their success and sustained business impact. The event will provide the opportunity for businesses to share their ideas as to how to keep “engagement” on the top table.

  • How to equip leaders and managers to engage people on a day-to-day basis: No one impacts employees more than their direct line managers in terms of how they perceive the organisation, its values, its priorities and its effectiveness. Your management team are critical to engagement and need to be equipped to influence, motivate and support employees to deliver more.

  • Learning from experiences in the field: hear success stories and understand some of the war wounds gathered along the way; learn from the inputs from both plcs and the public sector in how they have altered employee engagement and take strategies away for your own organisation. Avoid pitfalls and learn from the lessons of others !

  • Understand how concepts such as Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and Organisational Effectiveness translate into real-world strategies. Learn how to use them to facilitate positive change for your employees.

  • In times of restricted / diminishing budgets, learn methods of improving employee engagement that can be introduced without involving significant spending. Whether public sector or private, we expect you to take away new techniques of engagement suitable to the current economic situation affecting us all.

  • Behavioural techniques: the advantages of applying a common agenda to your people, your brand and your customers, and the techniques required to do so. Turning employees into ambassadors requires a clear expectation of behaviour which needs applying throughout your business - discover how this can be achieved and applied.

  • Network with your peers: The event offers you the opportunity to meet people promoting employee engagement in their own organisations. Time and time again, our feedback is rich with thanks for the networking opportunity our events represent.

All sessions at the event feature a Q & A session afterwards, which allows delegates to question some of the foremost practitioners of Employee Engagement in the UK. Talk to those people responsible for setting policy in household name brands and advising the Government at the premier event for Employee Engagement in the UK.
