ENGAGING FOR GROWTH 2010

A vital event for leaders and managers about engaging and motivating people to deliver sustainable business and great customer service.

The debate is over: organisational performance is directly linked with the level of engagement of it’s employees. Irrespective of your agenda, whether you are chasing an improved customer service levels; increased organisational agility; or cost cutting opportunities, your success will be dependent upon your ability to mobilise and align the talent of the organisation.

Statistics are shocking, we are seeing in reports increasing levels of disengagement. Many people staying where they are, not because they believe that things will improve but because of reduced opportunities to move in depressed recruitment market and a fear of the unknown – it might be worse somewhere else.

Let’s throw one more challenge onto the table: the workforce is changing. New generations entering the market are not motivated by the same drivers as those of previous generations. The “whatever” behaviours of the generation ‘Y’ workforce are proving alien to managers and leaders across our businesses. They work and communicate differently and will expect their company to operate in a sophisticated way when it comes to social media.

Driving increased levels of engagement is difficult now and is expected to become more challenging in the future. Engagement strategies need to be diverse, authentic and cost effective. We would like to introduce you to the idea of super engagement, the holistic view to company wellness.

To stay ahead of the game, organisations have no choice but to adopt more holistic approach to organisational wellness and people engagement. Employees are critical to the financial and service performance of their organisations and therefore can bring value or damage to brands. Irrespective of what sector you represent, where your business is on the journey, this event will provide insight and ideas to support your move to the next level.

BENEFITS OF ATTENDING

Learn and explore approaches to the critical challenges all organisations face:

  • How to better understand your workforce and do what matters to them: We’ll look at the criticality of effective surveys and feedback loops, both in their design and the reaction to findings.

  • How to justify the business case for an engagement strategy: In the current economic climate, perceived “soft” programmes or initiatives struggle to get the financial backing and the leadership focus they need. We know that engagement programmes are the enablers of business change: whether redesigning processes, changing IT systems, undergoing structural reorganisations, it is how employees embrace these changes that affect their success and sustained business impact. The event will provide the opportunity for businesses to share their ideas as to how to keep “engagement” on the top table.

  • How to equip leaders and managers to engage people on a day-to-day basis: No one impacts employees more than their direct line managers in terms of how they perceive the organisation, its values, its priorities and its effectiveness. Your management team are critical to engagement and need to be equipped to influence, motivate and support employees to deliver more.
